TAMPA, Fla. (December 17, 2025) – The University of South Florida women's basketball team returns to the friendly confines of the Yuengling Center for the first game of a four-game homestand. South Florida battles No. 3 South Carolina at 7 p.m. on ESPN2. Thursday's game is presented by Geico.
Setting The Stage:
The matchup with the Gamecocks will be the Bulls' third opponent from last season's Final Four. USF has started 5-1 or better at home in each of the last 12 seasons (since 2014-15), something that only seven other DI teams have also done. USF has gone 55-4 (.932) at home in non-conference games since 2017-18, best in the American over that time frame. That is the 15th best among all DI schools in that period (min. 10 games).
Series History:
South Florida and South Carolina will meet for the third time in as many years. The Gamecocks lead the series 2-0. This will be the first matchup inside the Yuengling Center.
Note-A-Bulls:
L'or Mputu is one of eight DI players since the beginning of last season to have at least 1,000 minutes played, eight rebounds per game, and a 58.0 field-goal percentage. She has recorded at least four rebounds and one made field goal in 34 straight games, the 12th-longest active streak in DI. The only USF players with a longer streak this century are Maria Jesperson (38 from March 2017 to March 2018) and Dulcy Fankam Mendjiadeu (35 from March 2022 to March 2023).
Fatou Diakite is shooting 60.8 percent from the field and 76.0 percent from the free-throw line this season. The only other USF player this century to have at least a 60.0 field-goal percentage and 75.0 free-throw percentage through 11 games of a season (min. 5 attempts of each) was Shae Leverett in 2018-19 (61.0, 75.0).
Stefanie Ingram had 23 points, four rebounds, and four assists against Vanderbilt. The only other USF player in the last 25 seasons to reach those marks against an AP Top 15 opponent was Elisa Pinzan on November 22, 2021, against No. 9 Oregon (26/4/10). Ingram is one of nine DI players this season who have at least 60 assists and 15 made threes. The only other USF player this century to reach those marks through 11 games of a season is Elisa Pinzan (2020-21, 2021-22).
Stefanie Ingram has recorded at least three assists in all 11 games this season. That is the second-longest streak to begin a campaign by any USF player this century, behind Pinzan's 21-game stretch to begin 2020-21. Ingram has accounted for 41.6 percent of the team's assists this season, the highest share in the American and 13th highest among all DI players. The last USF player to finish a season with a higher share of the category was Elisa Pinzan in 2020-21 (43.2%).
Katie Davidson is the second USF player this century to have at least 120 points and 11 or fewer turnovers through their first 11 career games with the Bulls, joining Janae Stokes (2008).
Additional Notes:
USF has four different players this season averaging at least 10.0 points and 3.0 rebounds per game, the most in the American Conference. The only season since 2000-01 in which the team finished with that many players was 2018-19 (also four).
USF has gone 55-4 (.932) at home in non-conference games since 2017-18, best in the American over that time frame. That is the 15th best among all DI schools in that period (min. 10 games).
South Florida is a perfect 46-0 since 2000-01 when scoring at least 90 points. The Bulls are one of 11 DI teams with at least 45 wins in such games over that period.
USF's active roster has played in a combined 839 games at the Division I level. That is the most among all American Conference teams and tied for ninth in Division I.
South Florida has had 89.8 percent of its assists this season come from upperclassmen. That is the second-highest share in the American (Wichita State – 100.0) and 30th in DI.
The Bulls have nine different players this season with a double-digit scoring game. That is tied for most in the American (Temple, Tulsa) and more than USF had all of last season (eight).
