USF Men’s Basketball USF Set for Home Matchup Against College of Charleston

Bulls look to keep momentum rolling; New football head coach Brian Hartline in attendance and to be introduced to fans.

TAMPA, Fla., December 9, 2025 – The University of South Florida men's basketball team (5–4) returns to the Yuengling Center on Wednesday evening, hosting the College of Charleston State (4-5) at 7 p.m. ET. The matchup will air on ESPN+ with radio coverage on Bulls Unlimited.

Program Comparison
The Bulls enter this game with a KenPom rating of 79 and a BPI of 78. The Cougars have a KenPom rating of 184 and a BPI of 204. South Florida averages 89.4 points per game, while College of Charleston averages 73.8 points per game.

USF also holds a significant advantage in the NET rankings, the NCAA's primary tool for evaluating Division I teams, coming in at No. 60, the highest mark in program history after their win over then No. 19 NET ranked Utah State. The College of Charleston is ranked No. 224.

Last Time Out
South Florida defeated No. 19 NET ranked Utah State, 74–61, on Thursday night at the Yuengling Center. Joseph Pinion led the Bulls with 17 points and five three-pointers, marking his third game this season with at least five made threes.

Izaiyah Nelson recorded his sixth double-double of the season with 11 points and 10 rebounds, and Josh Omojafo and CJ Brown each added 10 points. Wes Enis contributed nine points and four rebounds, and freshman Adriel Nyorha added seven points and five boards for his third straight game with seven or more points.

The Bulls opened the matchup with strong defensive pressure and efficient perimeter shooting, holding the Aggies to 4-for-17 from the field in the first 10 minutes. South Florida built a 26–11 advantage during that stretch and used a 15–0 run midway through the first half to extend the margin to 34–11. The Bulls ended the first half with a 41–20 lead, their second-largest halftime lead of the season.

Utah State attempted to close the gap in the second half, but USF maintained control throughout, collecting 15 rebounds, forcing eight turnovers, and never allowing the margin to shrink into single digits. Pinion added two more threes after halftime, and the Bulls' largest lead stretched to 23 points as they secured the upset.

The win marked USF's first victory over a team that finished a season in the NET top 60 since 2020 and highlighted the Bulls' continued strength on the glass and their ability to dictate pace from start to finish.

Series History
Wednesday marks the second-ever meeting between South Florida and the College of Charleston. The last matchup took place on November 8, 2024, when the Bulls fell 71-86 in Charleston, South Carolina.
