USF Men’s Basketball Welcomes North Texas for Alumni Day on ESPNU

The Bulls will appear on ESPNU, meaning six of their last eight games will be broadcast nationally

TAMPA, Fla, Feb. 22, 2025 – The University of South Florida men's basketball team returns to the Yuengling Center for an American Athletic Conference matchup with North Texas. The Bulls (13-14, 6-8) and the Mean Green (19-6, 10-3) are slated for a noon tip on Sunday, Feb. 23, on ESPNU. USF will honor its alumni at halftime. Sunday's game is presented by Florida Blue.
 
Setting The Stage:
USF is coming off a thrilling 20-point comeback on the road against UTSA and looks to keep the momentum going. South Florida and North Texas will meet for the only time during the regular season. The Bulls are 9-4 at home, while the Mean Green are 5-4 on the road.
 
Series History:
South Florida and North Texas will meet for the second time in program history. The Bulls won the only meeting between the two squads, 60-55, on February 3, 2024, in Denton.  
 
Note-A-Bull:
In the game at UTSA, CJ Brown recorded his 12th-straight game with a steal. He holds the longest streak by a USF player in the last 25 years, surpassing David Collins with 11 in 2012.
 
Jamille Reynolds paces the squad with 13.2 points and 7.8 rebounds per game. His 7.8 rebounds per game are tied for 76th in the country and are tied for third in the conference. With 6.13 defense rebounds per contest, he is 43rd in the NCAA and second in the AAC. He is tied for 63rd in the nation and tied for third in the league with seven double-doubles.
 
Additional Notes:
South Florida is 11th in the nation and is third in the conference with 15.48 fastbreak points per game. The Bulls are tied for 69th in the NCAA and third in the AAC with 7.9 steals per game. The Bulls are tied for 35th in the NCAA and third in the AAC, averaging 28.15 bench points per game. The USF bench has only been outscored six times this season. South Florida is holding opponents to 19.22 bench points per game.
