TAMPA, FLA., February 9, 2025- The University of South Florida softball team (3-2) fell to the No. 2-ranked Florida Gators, 8-0, as the USF-Rawlings Invitational finished up play on Sunday afternoon.

The Florida bats started hot right away, scoring four runs on five hits off senior pitcher
Belle Sardja. The veteran right-hander was unable to make it out of the first inning, as Junior
Hannah Marien came in relief after 0.2 innings.Â

South Florida had multiple baserunners in both the second and third innings but was unable to plate any runs.
Josie Foreman and
Alex Wilkes recorded the two lone hits on the afternoon for the Bulls.Â

The Gator bats stayed hot, hitting home runs in both the second and fourth innings to increase their lead. First-year
Anne Long came in relief of Marien after the Gators' lead increased to eight on the third home run given up by the Bulls' pitching staff.
