AUSTIN, Texas, March 2, 2025 – The University of South Florida softball team (16-6) fell to the No. 1 Texas Longhorns, 9-1, on Sunday to close out the Longhorn Invitational.
Texas scored two in the second and two in the third inning to take the early lead.
Allana Consolazio led the fourth inning off with a single and then advanced to second on a Longhorn error. She would advance to third on a fly-out from
Josie Foreman.
Alanah Rivera's sacrifice fly brought Consolazio across the plate to put the Bulls on the board.
The Longhorns scored five runs in the fourth inning to take the 9-1 lead.
The Bulls sent three pitchers to the circle, with
McKenna Schroding making her second career appearance. Dixon pitched 2.1 innings, while
Anne Long pitched 1.1 innings and struck out one. Schroding faced the final batter in the fourth inning and got the pop fly.
