BOCA RATON, Fla., April 6, 2025 – The University of South Florida softball team ended the weekend series with No. 23 Florida Atlantic on Sunday inside the FAU Softball Stadium.
Olivia Elliott,
Alexa Galligani, and
Alex Wilkes all had two hits, but the Bulls (30-12-1, 9-5-1) fell to the Owls (34-7, 13-2) 5-1.
Elliott and Galligani went 2-for-4, while Wilkes was 2-for-3 at the plate. Elliot scored the only run for USF, while
Josie Foreman picked up the lone RBI.
Belle Sardja got the start in the circle and went 1.2 innings. She fell to 11-4 on the season. She surrendered three earned runs with one strikeout.
Anne Long closed out the game with 4.1 innings of relief. She struck out two batters and gave up two earned runs.
The Owls got on the board first in the bottom of the second inning. They scored three runs on five hits. Florida Atlantic added two runs on two hits in the bottom of the sixth and extended its lead to 5-0.
Elliott got the top of the seventh inning started for the Bulls with a one-out single up the middle. Galligani followed with a single up the middle. Wilkes singled to left field and loaded the bases for the Bulls. Foreman produced a sac fly to center field as the Bulls cut the lead to 5-1.
Alanah Rivera singled to center field and loaded the bases for USF. South Florida could not score any more runs and fell to Florida Atlantic 5-1.

- Alexa Galligani extended her streak of reaching base safely to eight games with two hits in today's game and extended her hitting streak to five games.
- Alanah Rivera, Olivia Elliott, and Alex Wilkes each extended their hitting streaks to two games.
- The Bulls dropped its first American Athletic Conference series this season.
