TAMPA, May 12, 2025—The University of South Florida baseball team (27-22, 14-10 American) will welcome the North Florida Osprey (25-26, 13-14 ASUN) for a Tuesday night matchup at Red McEwen Field. The first pitch is set for 6:30 p.m. and will be streamed on ESPN+.
South Florida is currently in third place in the American standings after going 2-1 this past weekend against Florida Atlantic. The Bulls are one game behind Charlotte, who swept UAB this weekend.
The Bulls will close out the regular season with the East Carolina Pirates, who are currently two games behind the Bulls.
Setting The Stage:
South Florida won its sixth conference series after taking two out of three games at Florida Atlantic. The Bulls defeated the Owls 4-3 on Friday, before completing the 9-4 comeback win on Saturday.
LHP
Corey Braun earned his seventh win of the season, the second most in the conference. With the two conference wins this weekend, the Bulls tied their record for the most conference wins since joining the American.
Series History:
The Bulls and Ospreys have met 27 times, with North Florida leading the all-time series 15-12. In Tampa, the Ospreys lead the series 9-8. South Florida and North Florida were supposed to meet in Jacksonville last week, but the game was canceled due to inclement weather.
Note-A-Bull:
- UTL Anthony Quigley produced the first multi-hit game of his career on Sunday. He went 2-for-4 with one RBI.
- OF Ryan Pruitt has stolen 20 bases this season after stealing one against FAU. He leads the team and is currently tied for second in the conference.
- 1B Sebastian Greico has hit 14 home runs this season, leading the American Conference. He has a team-leading 47 RBI.
- OF Marcus Brodil has a team-leading .341 average. He has 59 hits, which leads the team. He ranks in the top 10 in the league in both categories.
- RHP Jack Nedrow has allowed the fewest number of walks in the conference this season with nine.
Additional Notes:
- Five players have hit at least one triple this season. Jackson Mayo leads with three, Carlos Jacome follows with two, while Lance Trippel, Bradke Lohry, and Carter Murphy have one.
- The Bulls' pitching staff has recorded 12 saves this season, with Landen Yorek earning five. Jorge DeCardenas has two, while Jack Nedrow, Corey Kling, Brandon Keyster, Adan Longoria, and Austin Newton have one. Longoria earned his first save on Tuesday at Florida, while Newton earned his on Friday at FAU.
- The Bulls' 14 conference wins are tied for the most wins since joining the American Athletic Conference. With three more conference games left, the Bulls have a chance to finish with the most conference wins since joining the American.
Hannahs at the Helm:
Mitch Hannahs was named South Florida's eighth head coach in program history on June 8, 2024, after compiling 355 wins over 11 seasons at Indiana State. The 2023 ABCA NCAA DI Midwest Region Coach of the Year guided the Sycamores to six conference titles and five NCAA Regionals, guiding ISU to a spot in the 2023 NCAA Super Regional. He takes over a USF team that went 26-29 last year and features 24 new players.

The Bulls have made 14 NCAA Tournament appearances and earned their first-ever Super Regional berth in 2021.
