USF CROSS COUNTRY LOOKS TO BUILD MOMENTUM AT SOUTHERN SHOWCASE IN HUNTSVILLE

September 11, 2025

TAMPA, Fla., September 11, 2025  The University of South Florida cross country team will continue its fall campaign Friday, Sept. 12, when it competes in the Southern Showcase at John Hunt Park. The meet, hosted by Jacksonville State, is set to begin at 8:30 a.m. ET.

The event brings together a competitive field from across the region, providing the Bulls with another opportunity to test themselves early in the season on a nationally recognized course.

USF is coming off the North Florida Invitational, where both the men's team in the 8K and the women's team in the 5K posted top-10 finishes. Delaney Stephens highlighted the meet for the Bulls with a new personal-best time of 18:26.3 in the women's 5K.

"This meet gives our student-athletes a chance to display the work they've been putting in throughout the summer and fall," said Director of Track & Field and Cross Country Erik Jenkins. "It's always exciting to see their talents come together in a competitive setting, and Huntsville will be a great stage for them to perform."

The Bulls will return to action later this fall with a series of meets that continue to prepare the team for conference and postseason competition.
