USF Women’s Basketball Welcomes Wichita State to the Yuengling Center for Alumni Day

The Bulls look to remain undefeated in 2026

TAMPA, Fla. (January 16, 2026) – The University of South Florida women's basketball team is riding a four-game winning streak and hosts Wichita State on Saturday inside the Yuengling Center on Saturday. The Bulls (11-7, 4-1 American) and the Shockers (3-15, 0-5 American) are scheduled for a 7 p.m. tip on ESPN+. Saturday's game is presented by TGH.
 
During halftime of Saturday's game, we will honor those alumni who made the trip back to Tampa.
 
Setting The Stage:
Earlier this week, Katie Davidson was named to the American Conference Weekly Honor Roll. She averaged 20.0 points for the week. South Florida enters the game on a four-game winning streak. In the second quarter against UTSA, USF scored 30 points, which was tied for the fifth-most points scored in a quarter. The Bulls enter the weekend ranked No. 68 in the NET rankings.

Series History:
South Florida and Wichita State will meet for the 14th time on Saturday. The Bulls lead the series 10-3 and have won the last three meetings. The Bulls won the lone meeting last season, 72-46, in Wichita. South Florida is 4-0 at home against Wichita State.
 
Note-A-Bulls:
Jelena Bulajic came off the bench against UTSA and recorded five made threes and two assists. The last USF player to post those marks without starting was Vittoria Blasigh on November 13, 2023 (five, two).
 
Edyn Battle has recorded at least 13 points, four assists, and a steal in five straight games. That is tied for the second-longest streak by any USF player this century, behind Aiya Shepard's six-game run from November to December 2001. She has 165 points and 35 assists this season. She is the only player this century to have that many of each through 11 career games at USF.
 
Stefanie Ingram has totaled 68 points, 24 rebounds, and 38 assists over her last six games. The only other USF player to reach those marks in any six-game span this century was Laia Flores (multiple times during the 2017-18 season). She is one of six DI players this season with at least 190 points, 100 assists, and 20 made threes. Ingram is the only USF player this century to reach these totals in her first 18 games of a season. She has accounted for 37.8 percent of the team's assists this season, the second-highest share in the American and 19th highest among all DI players. The last USF player to finish a season with a higher share of the category was Elisa Pinzan in 2020-21 (43.2%). Ingram has recorded at least two assists in all 18 games this season. That is the longest streak to begin a campaign by any USF player since Elisa Pinzan's 23-game stretch to begin 2020-21. Ingram currently leads the American Conference in 2025-26 with 104 assists and 596 minutes played. The only USF players this century to finish a season ranking in the top 2 of the conference in both categories are Elisa Pinzan (2021-22) and Laia Flores (2017-18).
 
L'or Mputu is one of four active DI players since the start of last season to have at least 1,300 minutes played, 8.0 rebounds per game, and a 57.0 field-goal percentage. She is one of three American Conference players this season with at least 55 offensive rebounds and 75 defensive rebounds. The others are Charlotte's Asianae Nicholson and Megan Nestor of North Texas.
 
Against UAB, Katie Davidson became the sixth USF player to score at least 20 points in a game this season. That is tied for the second most in DI, behind Oklahoma State (seven).
 
Additional Notes:
The Bulls have won four straight games, allowing four or fewer made threes in each. That is USF's longest such winning streak since a four-game run in November 2013.
 
USF has recorded at least nine steals in five straight games, the Bulls' longest such stretch since a 10-game run during the 2012-13 season.
 
USF's active roster has played in 911 Division I games. That is the most among all American Conference teams and the 11th most among all DI teams.
 
South Florida has had 88.4 percent of its assists this season come from upperclassmen. That is the second-highest share in the American (Wichita State – 99.5) and the 34th-highest in DI.
 
The Bulls have 12 players with at least 10 free-throw attempts this season. That is tied for most in Division I, along with six other schools.
 
USF has nine players this season with at least 50 points and 30 rebounds. That is the most in the American Conference and tied for second most in Division I.
