USF Men’s Basketball Secures 97–83 Road Victory at Tulane

Bulls continue to lead American in scoring with 11th game of 90-plus points this season.

NEW ORLEANS, La. – Jan. 29, 2026 – The University of South Florida men's basketball team earned a 97–83 road win over Tulane on Wednesday night, extending their momentum with a third consecutive American Conference victory by 13 or more points.

Wes Enis finished with a game-high 25 points, the most by any player on either team. Enis recorded his 40th made three-pointer this month, the most by any Division I player, and ranks seventh nationally in made three-pointers this season. He recorded six games with five or more made 3-pointers and became the sixth Bull in program history to post three or more 30-point performances in a single season.

Joseph Pinion added 17 points on six made field goals, and Izaiyah Nelson posted his 15th double-double of the season with 11 points and 12 rebounds, his ninth in the last 11 games. CJ Brown finished with 10 points, and Adriel Nyorha provided a lift off the bench with 10 points and four assists.

The game opened with fast tempo from both sides, with South Florida jumping out to a 4–0 lead before Tulane answered to tie it at 6–6. Tulane briefly took its first lead at 24–23, but the Bulls responded immediately. A one-point Tulane advantage turned into a seven-point South Florida lead at 36–29, fueled by downhill drives from Josh Omojafo and CJ Brown, and consistent pressure inside from Izaiyah Nelson.

Tulane struggled to generate offense during the stretch, going scoreless from 7:12 to 2:54 as South Florida took control. The Bulls closed the half with efficient ball movement, shooting 57 percent from the field and scoring 52 points in the opening 20 minutes. Enis knocked down three three-pointers in the first half, and Brown capped the period with a seven-foot pull-up jumper just before the buzzer to send South Florida into the break ahead 52–39.

Defensively, Enis and the Bulls held American Conference preseason Player of the Year Rowan Brumbaugh scoreless for the first 17:13 of the game, limiting Tulane's leading scorer, rebounder, and assist leader early.

South Florida carried their momentum into the second half and continued to dictate the game. By the 18:12 mark, the Bulls held a 15–1 advantage in second-chance points, reinforcing their edge on the glass and ability to extend possessions. Tulane struggled to generate consistent resistance defensively as South Florida continued to create high-quality looks through quick ball movement and interior pressure.

Continuing to play at the second-fastest tempo in the league, the Bulls finished with 38 rebounds and 42 points in the paint. South Florida's depth remained on display, with multiple scoring options keeping Tulane from finding a rhythm.

The 97-83 win marked South Florida's third consecutive conference victory by 13 or more points, following road wins at UAB and Tulane, and a home win against Florida Atlantic. The Bulls have scored 90 or more points in 11 games this season, tied for the second most in Division I.
