USF’s Men’s Basketball Outlasts Florida Atlantic in Overtime, Stay Atop American Conference

South Florida strengthened its position atop the American Conference standings, improving to 10-3 in league games — the third most single-season conference wins in program history.

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Feb. 15, 2026 — The University of South Florida men's basketball team (18-8 and 10-3) earned a gritty road victory Sunday, defeating Florida Atlantic (14-12 and 6-7) by a score of 83-81 in overtime, at Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena.

With the win, the Bulls improved to 18-8 overall and 10-3 in American Conference play, remaining alone in first place. Their 10 conference wins rank third all-time in single-season program history. They now have seven road wins, which is second all-time in single-season program history, and one game back of the record.

South Florida has now won four straight games, the longest streak of the season and the longest of the Bryan Hodgson era, as the Bulls continue to build momentum down the stretch.

With both Charlotte and Temple losing today, the Bulls' win gives them a two-game lead over Tulsa (8-5) and Wichita State (8-5) in the American Conference standings. The Bulls swept Tulsa 2-0 this season and hold the tiebreaker, while they split the season series with Wichita State 1-1. Updated American Conference standings can be found here.

Wes Enis delivered another standout performance, finishing with a game-high 27 points while knocking down five three-pointers. This is the eighth time this season Enis has made five or more three-pointers. He now only trails Tyler Harris (2022-23), who hit that mark in a program record 11 games.

The outing also marked Enis' eighth 20-point game of the season, the most on the team this season.

Enis scored 18 points in the first half, including a run of 13 straight points all by himself. Enis provided several timely baskets throughout the contest, including a three-pointer in overtime that helped the Bulls regain control.

Joseph Pinion added 15 points and buried four threes, continuing his climb up the program's single-season record book. Pinion's fourth triple moved him to 86 made three-pointers this season, surpassing Chucky Atkins (84) for third-most in a single season in USF history.

Enis' overtime three-pointer marked no. 85 for him this season, also surpassing Chucky Atkins for fourth in single-season program history.

The duo became the first teammates in program history to each make 80 or more three-pointers in the same season.

The matchup featured 17 lead changes, with neither side able to create significant separation. Florida Atlantic took a narrow 38-36 advantage into halftime, but the Bulls answered in the second half behind clutch perimeter shooting and defensive stops.

Pinion's late three-pointer gave South Florida a two-point edge in the final minutes of regulation before the Owls answered to send the game to overtime tied at 72.

In the extra session, Enis connected from beyond the arc, and the Bulls executed down the stretch. South Florida converted key free throws in the closing seconds and secured a defensive stop on the final possession to seal the victory.

Note-a-Bulls:
Chucky Atkins Drops to Fifth in Threes Joseph Pinion (86) and Wes Enis (85) passed Chucky Atkins (84) for the third and fourth most three-pointers made in single-season program history. The duo is the first pair of teammates to both make 80+ in a season in program history.

Enis 5+ Threes – Wes Enis finished five for nine from three, marking his eighth game this season with five or more threes. He is now second in single-season program history, trailing only Tyler Harris, who had 11 such games during the 2022-23 season.
