USF Men’s Basketball Returns Home to Host Memphis for Throwback Thursday

First-Place Bulls carry a four-game win streak into Thursday’s Game on ESPN2

TAMPA, Fla., Feb. 16, 2026 – The University of South Florida men's basketball team (18–8, 10-3) returns to the Yuengling Center on Thursday to host Memphis (12-13, 7-5) at 7:00 p.m. The game theme is Throwback Thursday.

Program Comparison
The Bulls enter this game with a KenPom rating of 60, BPI of 67, and NET ranking of 57. The Tigers have a KenPom rating of 100, BPI of 85, and NET ranking of 105.

South Florida is in first place in the American Conference, while Memphis sits in a three-way tie for fourth.

South Florida ranks No. 1 in the American in seven team stat categories, including points per game (88.8), while Florida Atlantic ranks sixth in the conference (74.8).

Series History
Saturday marks the 43rd all-time meeting between South Florida and Memphis. The teams last met on March 7, 2025, in Memphis, where the Bulls fell 68-84.

On a four-game win streak, South Florida sits No. 1 in the conference after wins over UTSA, Tulsa, Wichita State, and FAU. Their Net ranking of 57 is the second-highest in program history, after being ranked at 56 earlier this year.

About USF Men's Basketball
South Florida men's basketball named Bryan Hodgson, 37, as the program's 12th head coach on March 24, 2025. Hodgson came to Tampa from Arkansas State, where he led the program to back-to-back 20-win seasons and its first postseason appearance since 1999 in his two seasons at the helm.
 
The program, entering its 55th season in 2025-26, most recently won the American Athletic Conference regular season championship in 2023-24 and has made 13 postseason appearances, including three NCAA Tournaments, nine NITs, and a CBI championship in 2019. Three former Bulls – Chucky Atkins, Charlie Bradley, and Rodenko Dobras – have had their jerseys retired and are members of the USF Athletic Hall of Fame. The Bulls play their home games at the 10,400-seat Yuengling Center on the USF Tampa campus.
