USF’s Men’s Basketball Standout Wes Enis Named American Conference Player of the Week

Enis powers Bulls to back-to-back road wins with 21.5 points per game, highlighted by his first career double-double.

TAMPA, Fla. – Feb. 16, 2026 — After leading the University of South Florida men's basketball team to a pair of critical road victories, Wes Enis has been named the American Conference Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.
 
Enis averaged 21.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 1.0 steal while helping the Bulls secure wins over Wichita State Shockers and Florida Atlantic Owls.
 
In a 66-58 victory at Wichita State, Enis recorded the first double-double of his career, finishing with 16 points and a career-high 11 rebounds in 36 minutes. He added two assists and a steal, controlling the glass and helping USF close out the road win.
 
Enis followed that performance with a game-high 27 points in an 83-81 overtime thriller at Florida Atlantic. He shot 10-of-17 from the field and knocked down five three-pointers on nine attempts, while adding an assist and a steal across 43 minutes of action. His scoring punch proved pivotal as the Bulls secured their second road victory of the week.
 
Through two games, Enis shot 52.9 percent from the field and 55.6 percent from three-point range, delivering efficient offense and timely plays on both ends of the floor.
 
Note-a-Bulls:
Enis Passes Chucky Atkins in Threes Wes Enis (85) passed Chucky Atkins (84) for the fourth most three-pointers made in single-season program history.
 
Enis 5+ Threes – Wes Enis finished five for nine from three at FAU, marking his eighth game this season with five or more threes. He is now second in single-season program history, trailing only Tyler Harris, who had 11 such games during the 2022-23 season.

South Florida men's basketball named Bryan Hodgson, 37, as the program's 12th head coach on March 24, 2025. Hodgson came to Tampa from Arkansas State, where he led the program to back-to-back 20-win seasons and its first postseason appearance since 1999 in his two seasons at the helm.
 
The program, entering its 55th season in 2025-26, most recently won the American Athletic Conference regular season championship in 2023-24 and has made 13 postseason appearances, including three NCAA Tournaments, nine NITs, and a CBI championship in 2019.
