USF Men's Basketball Hosts UTSA for Arthur Jones Night

Bulls return to YC for Student Appreciation Night, as they honor Aurthur Jones' impact

TAMPA, Fla., Feb. 2, 2026 – The University of South Florida men's basketball team (14–8, 6-3) returns home to continue American Conference play on Wednesday night, as UTSA enters town (4-17, 0-9) at 7 p.m. ET.

South Florida will honor the legacy of Arthur Jones on court at halftime. This is also Student Appreciation Night, and the first 150 students in Gate D will receive a free $10 concessions voucher.

Program Comparison
The Bulls enter this game with a KenPom rating of 67, BPI of 67, and NET ranking of 62. The Roadrunners have a KenPom rating of 346, BPI of 316, and NET ranking of 352.

South Florida ranks No. 1 in the American in multiple team stat categories, including points per game (89.5), while UTSA ranks No. 13 in the conference (68.2).

The Bulls also lead the American in combined team rebounds per game (43.1), team offensive rebounds (15.4), and assists (17.5).

Series History
Saturday marks the third all-time meeting between South Florida and UTSA. The teams last met on Feb. 19, 2025, at the Liacouras Center, where the Bulls earned the victory 78-73.

About USF Men's Basketball
South Florida men's basketball named Bryan Hodgson, 37, as the program's 12th head coach on March 24, 2025. Hodgson came to Tampa from Arkansas State, where he led the program to back-to-back 20-win seasons and its first postseason appearance since 1999 in his two seasons at the helm.
 
The program, entering its 55th season in 2025-26, most recently won the American Athletic Conference regular season championship in 2023-24 and has made 13 postseason appearances, including three NCAA Tournaments, nine NITs, and a CBI championship in 2019. Three former Bulls – Chucky Atkins, Charlie Bradley, and Rodenko Dobras – have had their jerseys retired and are members of the USF Athletic Hall of Fame. The Bulls play their home games at the 10,400-seat Yuengling Center on the USF Tampa campus.
