Birmingham, Ala. (March 11, 2026) – The South Florida women's basketball team (20-11; 13-5 American) will play UTSA (15-15; 9-9 American) in the American Conference Tournament Quarterfinals on Thursday at 3:00 p.m. ET at Legacy Arena at the BJCC.
The game will be streamed live on ESPN+ with Sam Gore and Brooke Weisbord on the call. It will also be available on Bulls Unlimited Digital Radio.
Setting the Stage
South Florida is coming off a 58-49 victory over Tulane on March 7, which was the 800
th win in program history and the 20
th win of the season.
Michele Woods-Baxter is the only active interim head coach in Division I men's or women's basketball to win 20+ games this season. The Bulls have also posted 20 or more wins in 12 of the past 20 seasons, the most in the American Conference.
The Bulls are riding a four-game winning streak and have won seven of their last eight. USF held Tulane to a 28.1% field goal percentage, the second straight game holding an opponent below 30%.
Katie Davidson led the Bulls with 21 points, four rebounds, and two blocks, recording her fifth 20+ point game of the season.
Carla Brito (10 points, 12 rebounds) and
L'or Mputu (10 points, 14 rebounds) posted double-doubles in the same game for the fourth time during conference play this season.
Series History
South Florida leads the all-time series, 3-2, including a 69-63 win in San Antonio on Feb. 14. USF has a three-game winning streak against UTSA.
Note-a-Bulls
Stefanie Ingram leads the American with 5.7 assists per game and 178 total assists. She ranks 16
th in the nation in total assists and 17
th in assists per game. Her 178 total assists rank fourth in a single-season in program history. The redshirt junior is one of 14 Division I players this season with at least 300 points, 175 assists, and 100 rebounds. She is one of three American Conference players this season, averaging at least 10.0 points and 5.0 assists per game. The only USF players this century to finish a campaign with such marks are Elisa Pinzan (2020-21), Shantia Grace (2005-06), and Anerdra Gilmore (2004-05).
Edyn Battle is one of three American Conference players this season, averaging at least 15.0 points and 4.0 assists per game in conference play (Kennedy Fauntleroy and Daejah Richmond). She is the only USF player this century to have a campaign with those marks in conference games. She ranks third in the American in free-throw percentage (.824) and fifth with 4.5 assists per game during conference play.
Carla Brito recorded at least 10 points, 12 rebounds, and a steal in six straight games from Feb. 4-21. That is the longest streak in American Conference history and the longest by any Division I player this season. She ranks second in the American with 11.1 rebounds per game during conference play.
Additional Notes
USF's active roster has played in a combined 1,037 games at the Division I level. That is the most among all American Conference teams and the 12th most among all Division I teams.
The Bulls lead the league with 16.13 assists per game, field goal percentage (44.1%), and opponent field goal percentage (35.8%) during conference play.
South Florida ranks second in the conference in rebounding, pulling down 41.1 boards per game.
