TAMPA, Fla., March 2, 2026 – The USF women's basketball team (18-11; 11-5 American) will host Temple (13-15; 7-9 American) on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. at the Yuengling Center.
Four senior players will be honored at 6:38 p.m., including
Janette Aarnio,
Ines Piper,
L'or Mputu, and
Carla Brito. Tuesday's game will also be Fan Appreciation Night.
The game will be streamed live on ESPN+ with Jim Louk and Leah Secondo on the call. It will also be available on Bulls Unlimited Digital Radio.
The Bulls are in third place in the American Conference standings entering Tuesday's game. If South Florida wins one of the final two regular season games, USF will secure the 3 seed in the American Conference Tournament.
Setting the Stage
South Florida is coming off a 66-63 road win at North Texas on Feb. 28 after earning a 75-55 victory over Florida Atlantic at home on Feb. 21. The Bulls are 7-0 at the Yuengling Center in 2026, winning those games by an average of 17.9 points.
Edyn Battle led USF with 19 points, three rebounds, two assists, and a steal, earning American Conference Honorable Mention for her performance. She secured a key rebound with 31 seconds remaining to help seal the victory.
Carla Brito added 16 points, nine rebounds, and two steals while shooting 8-for-10 at the free throw line.
Stefanie Ingram recorded 14 points and six assists, and
L'or Mputu finished with 13 points, seven rebounds, and two blocks while tying her career-high with three steals.
Battle, Brito, Ingram, and Mputu scored 62 of South Florida's 66 points (93.9%) against the Mean Green.
USF forced 20 turnovers against North Texas, the most in conference play and second-highest overall this season (23 forced turnovers vs. FIU on Nov. 3).
Series History
South Florida leads the all-time series against Temple, 19-5, including an 8-1 record at home. However, Temple defeated USF, 86-83, earlier this season in Philadelphia on Jan. 20.
Note-a-Bulls
Carla Brito recorded at least 10 points, 12 rebounds, and a steal in six straight games from Feb. 4-21. That is the longest streak in American Conference history and the longest by any Division I player this season.
Stefanie Ingram leads the American with 5.8 assists per game and 168 total assists. She ranks 16
th nationally in total assists and 18
th in assists per game.
Ingram has seven games this season with at least nine assists, the most in the American Conference. The only USF players to have more in a single season this century are Laia Flores (nine in 2017-18) and Anedra Gilmore (nine in 2004-05). The redshirt junior is one of 12 Division I players this season with at least 250 points, 150 assists, and 100 rebounds. She is one of three American Conference players this season, averaging at least 9.0 points and 5.0 assists per game. The only USF players this century to finish a campaign with such marks are Elisa Pinzan (2020-21, 2021-22), Shantia Grace (2005-06), and Anerdra Gilmore (2004-05).
Edyn Battle is one of two American Conference players this season, averaging at least 15.0 points and 4.0 assists per game in conference play (ECU's Kennedy Fauntleroy). No USF player this century has finished a campaign with those marks in conference games. She ranks third in the American in free-throw percentage (.822) and fifth in scoring during conference play (15.3 points per game).
Carla Brito ranks second in the American with 11.3 rebounds per game during conference play.
Additional Notes
USF has eight different players this season with at least 100 points and 50 rebounds. That is tied for the most in the American Conference (North Texas).
USF's active roster has played in a combined 1,015 games at the Division I level. That is the most among all American Conference teams and the 12th most among all Division I teams.
The Bulls lead the league with 16.37 assists per game, field goal percentage (44.3 percent), and opponent field goal percentage (37.5 percent) during conference play.
South Florida ranks third in the conference in rebounding, pulling down 40.2 boards per game.
