TAMPA, Fla., March 5, 2026 – The University of South Florida beach volleyball team will stay close to home this weekend as they make the quick trip to the University of Tampa to compete at the Tampa Beach Brawl on Friday, Mar.6 and Saturday, Mar 7.
Setting the Stage
The Bulls will compete in a four-dual weekend featuring Tampa, Barry, Palm Beach Atlantic, and Eckerd. South Florida opens the weekend on Friday, March 6 against the host, Tampa, before closing out the opening day against Barry. On day two, the Bulls will face Palm Beach Atlantic and Eckerd College.
Opponents
The weekend slate features four Sunshine State Conference matchups. Tampa enters the weekend with a 4-3 record, recently facing No.7 TCU, USF, and FGCU. The Bulls earned a 3-0 sweep over Tampa last weekend. Barry comes into the weekend with a 2-7 mark after competing against Saint Leo and Florida Southern. PBA sits at 4-5, previously facing Palm Beach State and Florida International. Eckerd rounds out the competition with a 2-4 record, most recently taking on Mercer, Jacksonville, Charleston, and No.14 Stetson.
Match Format
Each dual features five pairs competing simultaneously. USF's Pair 1 faces the opponent's Pair 1, Pair 2 vs. Pair 2, and so on through Pair 5. Each pair plays a match, and the team that wins at least three of the five pair matchups earns the program win.

Saturday, Mar. 7
vs. PBA– 9:00 a.m.
vs. Eckerd 1:00 p.m.
Note-A-Bulls:
• Statement Sweep – USF earned a 3-0 sweep over the Tampa last weekend.
• Competing Close to Home–For the first time this season, the bulls won't have to travel far this weekend, competing locally at the University of Tampa. All matches will be played at Tampa Beach Volleyball Complex.

About USF Beach Volleyball
The University of South Florida Beach Volleyball program is the newest program in the now 21-team USF Athletics program. South Florida Beach Volleyball joined Conference USA on July 1, 2025. Pri Piantadosi-Lima was named South Florida's first-ever beach volleyball head coach on June 6, 2023. She also serves as the head coach of USAV Beach and the national team development program and was honored as the 2022 USA Volleyball Female Junior Coach of the Year. Before joining South Florida, Piantadosi-Lima helped launch the Eckerd College program in 2015 as an assistant coach and helped lead the program to its first AVCA national championship and two consecutive NCAA championship podium finishes.
