
USF Softball Extends Winning Streak to Four Games with a Sweep Over Memphis

Alex Wilkes hits her seventh home run of the season
Pierce went 2-for-3 at the plate with a run scored, extending her hitting streak to four games. Brooks finished 2-for-4 with an RBI. Alex Wilkes led the team with two RBIs after belting her seventh home run of the season.
How It Happened
Kathy Garcia-Soto led off the game with a six-pitch walk. Alexa Galligani advanced her to second with a sacrifice bunt. Olivia Elliott scored USF's first run with a single to right field as Garcia-Soto crossed home plate.

The Tigers tied the game in the bottom of the first with a run on two hits. Aubrey Williams gave Memphis the lead with a solo home run to center in the bottom of the second. Memphis remained ahead 2-1 after two innings.
Garcia-Soto started the top of the third inning with a single up the middle and then stole second. Wilkes hit a two-run home run over the center-field wall to give the Bulls a 3-2 lead.

Pierce hit a double to right field. Brooks drove in a run with a single up the middle. USF led 4-2 after three innings.

Pierce reached on a fielder's choice in the top of the fifth. Brooks singled through the right side to put the Bulls' runners on first and second. Grace Chin entered the game as a pinch runner for Pierce at second. Alert base running by Chin and an error by the third baseman allowed Chin to score. The Bulls went on to win the game 5-2.

Belle Sardja started in the circle and pitched one inning. She allowed two earned runs. Anne Long pitched six innings in relief and earned the win. She improves to 6-3 on the season. She struck out four batters.
