TAMPA, Fla., April 11, 2026 – The University of South Florida track and field program delivered a statement performance on their home track, capturing multiple event titles, personal bests and podium finishes at the South Florida Invitational at the USF Track & Field Stadium.
Competing in front of a home crowd, the Bulls turned in one of their most complete meets of the outdoor season, with victories spanning sprints, middle distance, relays and field events. The weekend was defined by strong finishes at the top of the podium and continued progression across both the men's and women's squads.
HIGHLIGHTS:
Throws:
The Bulls set the tone in the throws, where Esteisy "Fabiana" Salas Lozano captured the shot put title with a mark of 15.35m.
Annalee Harbison followed with a third-place finish in the hammer throw with a mark of 56.92m.
Sprints:
Nathan Metelus added a win on the track, taking first in the 400m with a time of 45.80.
On the women's side,
Lynette Scutari recorded a personal-best time of 23.75 to place fourth in the 200m.
Sasha Salwonchuk added a personal-best time of 53.91 to finish fourth in the 400m.
Relays:
South Florida's women's 4x100m relay team of
Doris Quainoo,
Tristen Evatt,
Lynette Scutari and
Terren Peterson raced to a first-place finish in 44.60.
The 4x400m team of Sasha Salwonchuk, Malaysia Johnson, Terren Peterson and Jada Wilson turned in a 3:37.49, securing a second-place finish.
Middle Distance:
Karim Belmahdi continued his strong outdoor season with a first-place finish in the 800m, running a personal best of 1:48.05.
Tanner Andrade-Brinsko also posted a personal-best 800m time of 1:51.01.
In the 1,500m,
Nicolas Dovalovsky placed third in 3:54.89.
On the women's side,
Delaney Stephens claimed the 3,000m steeplechase title, finishing in 11:00.48.
Pole Vault:
The Bulls controlled the runway in the pole vault, where
Payton Pitts cleared 5.26m to win the event.
Nikodem Pochopien followed with a third-place finish, clearing 5.16m to give South Florida two podium finishes.
Jumps:
South Florida added to its momentum in the field events with
Elisha Williams placing third in the men's long jump with a mark of 7.28m.
On the women's side,
Lilah Versluis matched her personal best of 1.75m to finish third in the high jump.
Kenniyah Guischard-Yearwood recorded a personal-best mark of 5.83m in the long jump.
