TAMPA, Fla. (April 29, 2026) — The University of South Florida softball team faces North Texas in the final series of the regular season. The Bulls (37-15, 18-6 American) and the Mean Green (27-24, 14-10 American) are set to open with a 6:05 p.m. first pitch on Thursday, April 30. All three games will be broadcast on ESPN+.
Saturday will host the Senior Day ceremony. Before the game, USF will honor its six seniors. Fans can receive mini-Fatheads of the seniors while supplies last.
On Thursday, The Actual Bank Robbers will perform pregame, during the game, and postgame.
Earlier this week,
Alexa Galligani was named to the American Conference honorable mention list and was selected for an NFCA Top Performance. In game one of the series at UAB, Galligani finished with two hits, including a double and a home run. She was involved in all five Bulls runs, recording a career-high four RBIs and two runs scored. She added three RBIs in Sunday's six-run comeback victory. She finished the weekend with seven RBIs and two home runs.
Series History vs North Texas:
The Bulls and Mean Green will meet for the eighth time on Thursday. USF holds a narrow 4-3 series lead. South Florida is 2-2 at home against North Texas, and the Bulls have won three of the last four meetings.
Note-A-Bulls:
Kathy Garcia-Soto is tied for 13th in the NCAA with six triples, which is the most in the American Conference. She is fourth in the country and leads the conference with 139 assists.
Alex Wilkes is tied for 53rd nationally and leads the conference with 15 doubles.
Anne Long is 20th in the NCAA and leads the American Conference with a 1.71 ERA. She is tied for 35th in the NCAA and tied for first in the conference with 16 wins. She is tied for 40th in the NCAA and tied for second in the conference with three saves. She is tied for 53rd in the nation and tied for first in the conference with a 1.12 WHIP.
Belle Sardja is tied for 40th in the NCAA and for second in the conference, with three saves.
Alexa Galligani is tied for 37th in the NCAA and tied for second in the conference with five sacrifice flies.
The Bulls are third in the NCAA with 56 sacrifice bunts. USF is third nationally with 32 double plays. South Florida is tied for 37th in the country with 14 triples, the second most in the conference. The Bulls are tied for eighth in the NCAA with a .980 fielding percentage, the best in the conference. South Florida has recorded 22 sacrifice flies, tied for 20th in the NCAA and tied for first in the conference.
The South Florida pitching staff is tied for 23rd in the NCAA and leads the American Conference with nine shutouts. USF ranks 19th nationally and leads the conference with a 2.74 ERA. The Bulls are tied for 29th nationally and lead the American Conference with a WHIP of 1.31.
