South Florida Baseball Returns to Tampa to Face Florida Atlantic

TAMPA, Fla. (April 30, 2026) – South Florida baseball returns home after spending almost two weeks on the road to host Florida Atlantic. The Bulls (28-16, 7-11 American) welcome the Owls (22-22, 8-10 American) to Tampa for a three-game American Conference series.

South Florida football head coach Brian Hartline will be throwing out the first pitch ahead of Friday night's game on May 1st. He will also be planning to join the broadcast booth at some point during the game.
 
Setting The Stage:
The Bulls fell to 14th-ranked Florida State on the road Wednesday, April 29th, by a score of 9-1. South Florida is currently on a four-game losing streak and has lost three straight conference series.
 
Florida Atlantic hosted Charlotte last week and took two out of three. The Owls then beat FGCU in a midweek matchup, 8-1 on the road in Fort Myers.
 
South Florida last claimed a conference series win on April 2-4, taking two of three from Memphis. FAU's last series loss came that same weekend when UAB swept the Owls.
 
Series History:
South Florida leads the all-time series record, 18-8, and the Bulls are 9-4 against the Owls at home in Tampa. Last year, South Florida took a three-game series on the road in Boca Raton. The last time these two met in Tampa in 2024, the Owls won the series, 2-1.
 
Note-A-Bull:
  • Ethan Sutton has nine saves on the season and is on the NCBWA Midseason Stopper of the Year Watch List.
  • South Florida is 20-1 when scoring six or more runs.
  • Jevin Relaford has 26 stolen bases on the year.

The program continues to develop top-tier talent with 134 MLB Draft picks all-time, including three selections in 2025. Notable alumni include two-time MLB All-Star and 2018 first-round draft pick Shane McClanahan. Bulls have earned All-America honors 12 times and Freshman All-America recognition 19 times.
