USF Softball Travels to Gainesville for a Midweek Clash with No. 7 Florida

The Bulls will face their fourth ranked opponent of the season.

TAMPA, Fla. (April 7, 2026) — The University of South Florida softball team heads to Gainesville for a rematch with No. 7 Florida on Wednesday, April 8. This marks their second game of the season broadcast on national TV, with Wednesday's game airing on ESPN2. The Bulls (29-12) and the Gators (36-5) are set for a 7:02 p.m. first pitch. 
 
Earlier this week, Anne Long was named the American Conference Pitcher of the Week. She earned two wins in her two starts, pitching 14.0 innings and recording seven strikeouts. She posted a 1.00 ERA and limited UTSA to a .250 batting average.
 
Series History vs Florida:
USF and UTSA will play their seventh game against each other on Thursday. The Bulls hold a 5-1 lead in the series. USF is 2-1 in games played at UTSA.
 
Note-A-Bulls:
Kathy Garcia-Soto is tied for seventh in the NCAA with five triples, which leads the American Conference. She is tied for 13th in the country with 99 assists.
 
Alex Wilkes ranks sixth in the conference with eight home runs. Her 41 RBIs lead the American Conference. She is tied for 49th in the NCAA and leads her conference with 12 doubles.
 
Anne Long is tied for 23rd in the NCAA and leads the American Conference with a 1.69 ERA. She is also tied for third in the conference with 11 wins. 
 
Belle Sardja is tied for 19th in the NCAA and is second in the conference with three saves.
 
Alexa Galligani is tied for 15th in the NCAA with five sacrifice flies, which ranks second in the American Conference. Toryn Fulton is tied for 39th nationally and tied for fourth in the conference with four sacrifice flies. 
 
The Bulls lead the NCAA with 44 sacrifice bunts. USF is tied for fourth nationally with 25 double plays. South Florida is tied for 17th in the country with 13 triples, the most in the conference. The Bulls are tied for eighth in the NCAA with a .981 fielding percentage, the best mark in the conference. South Florida has recorded 19 sacrifice flies, which is tied for 13th in the NCAA and also tied for the conference lead. 
 
The South Florida pitching staff is tied for 31st in the NCAA and leads the American Conference with six shutouts. USF ranks 31st nationally and leads the conference with a 2.99 ERA. The Bulls are tied for 39th in the nation and are second in the American Conference with a WHIP of 1.36.
