TAMPA, Fla., April 9, 2026 – The University of South Florida beach volleyball team (18-6) hits the road for a cross-country test, traveling to Boise, Idaho, for the Boise State Beach Bash, set for April 10-11.
Setting the Stage
The Bulls face a tough test this weekend, taking on two ranked opponents in a challenging two-day slate. South Florida kicks off the Boise State Beach Bash on Friday, April 10 when they take on Washington who is receiving votes, before facing #19 Boise State. On Saturday, April 11, the Bulls will take on #11 Grand Canyon and FIU to wrap up the tournament.
Opponents
Washington is 13-10 and currently receiving votes. Washington recently faced Tulane, #3 Texas, and Houston Christian. #19 Boise State is 13-11 and went 4-0 against Oregon, Santa Clara, UTEP, and CSUN (California State University Northridge) last weekend. #11 Grand Canyon is 14-10, and went 4-0 defeating #12 Arizona State, #15 Stetson, FIU, and Ottawa University (Ariz.) at the Sparky Invitational. FIU is 8-12 and previously faced #13 Grand Canyon, #15 Stetson, #12 Arizona State, and Ottawa University (Ariz.)
Match Format
Each dual features five pairs competing simultaneously. USF's Pair 1 faces the opponent's Pair 1, Pair 2 vs. Pair 2, and so on through Pair 5. Each pair plays a match, and the team that wins at least three of the five pair matchups earns the program win.

About USF Beach Volleyball
The University of South Florida Beach Volleyball program is the newest program in the now 21-team USF Athletics program. South Florida Beach Volleyball joined Conference USA on July 1, 2025. Pri Piantadosi-Lima was named South Florida's first-ever beach volleyball head coach on June 6, 2023. She also serves as the head coach of USAV Beach and the national team development program and was honored as the 2022 USA Volleyball Female Junior Coach of the Year. Before joining South Florida, Piantadosi-Lima helped launch the Eckerd College program in 2015 as an assistant coach and helped lead the program to its first AVCA national championship and two consecutive NCAA championship podium finishes.
