USF Track and Field: Eight Bulls Advance to the Finals on Opening Day of American Outdoor Championships

DENTON, Texas (May 14, 2026) – Eight Bulls advanced to the finals on the opening day of the American Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Thursday at Norma Knobel Hunt Stadium.
 
After the first three scored events, the South Florida women sit in eighth place with five points, while the men have yet to score.
 
Throws
Annalee Harbison placed fourth in the hammer throw with a personal-best 57.55m.
 
Sprints
Three Bulls advanced to the men's 200m final. Jaleel Croal finished second with a season-best time of 20.43, followed closely by Cayden Broadnax, who recorded a personal-best 20.49. Nathan Metelus placed eighth, crossing in 20.73.
 
Lynette Scutari won her heat to advance to the women's 200m final, posting a personal-best time of 23.59.
 
Hurdles
Joshua Crum finished second in the 400m hurdles trials with a personal-best 50.81 to advance to Saturday's final. Devontie Archer also advanced to the final after placing fifth in 51.45.
 
Middle Distance
Karim Belmahdi advanced to the men's 1,500m final, running 3:56.40 to finish ninth.
 
Mercy Angaamchaab delivered a 1,500m time of 4:37.71 to advance to the final.
