TAMPA, Fla. (May 3, 2026) – University of South Florida baseball was victorious in Game 3 against FAU on Sunday. The Bulls (29-18, 8-13 American) defeated the Owls (24-23, 10-11 American) 11-6.
The game was low scoring to start, and FAU clung to a 3-2 lead until the seventh inning. Twelve of the game's 17 runs were scored after the seventh-inning stretch. The Bulls posted a four-run inning in the seventh and a five-run inning in the eighth to secure the victory.
Jevin Relaford stole two bags on the day, the steals coming on back-to-back pitches. They marked stolen bases number 27 and 28 on the season for Relaford, who now ranks ninth all-time in program history in stolen bases in a season.
Jacob Green hit his fourth triple of the season in the bottom of the eighth that scored two. With one more triple, he would be the first Bull to post five triples in a season since Bryan Hierimeier in 2004.
Nathan Earley continued to be a key bat for South Florida, going 3-for-3 with two runs and an RBI.
Jack Lutz and
Ryan Pruitt both had two hits. Lutz earned three RBI, while Relaford and
Lance Trippel both recorded two.
Dominic Pontbriant started for South Florida on the hump and threw 4.1 innings before being relieved by
Landen Yorek, who threw 2.0 innings.
Nolan Bernard entered after Yorek and earned the win, improving to 3-1 on the year.
Edwin Alicea finished the game for the Bulls.
