Zanayah “Z” Richardson enters her 2nd year at the University of South Florida as the Assistant Athletic Trainer for Track & Field and Cross Country. She joins the USF Athletic Medicine Staff after working completing her Master of Science in Athletic Training here at USF in 2022.
While an Athletic Training Student at USF, Richardson gained firsthand experience working with several USF programs. With USF Football and Volleyball, Z Evaluated injuries to formulate clinical diagnoses and designed appropriate treatment protocols for specific conditions. During her rotation with Men’s Basketball, she created and implemented rehabilitation protocols utilizing therapeutic exercise, release techniques, and functional exercise. She has significant experience with ACLR rehabilitation a well.
A Loganville, GA native, Z attended Georgia State University where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science. During her undergraduate studies, she completed a 600-hour internship at Georgia Gwinnett College working with the baseball, softball, soccer, and tennis teams where she provided acute injury care, designed rehab plans, and hosted the NAIA Baseball and Softball World Series. While attending GSU, she also worked as a physical therapy technician for Athens Orthopedic clinic where she assisted patients in performing rehabilitative exercises and treatments; created home-based rehabilitation exercises for selective populations. She graduated from GSU summa cum laude in 2019.
Z is a BOC Certified Athletic trainer, Florida Licensed Athletic Trainer, and ACSM Exercise Physiologist. She holds additional certifications in CPR/AED techniques, HawkGrips Level 1, and Mental Health First Aid. She enjoys watching movies, going to the beach, and spending time with close family and friends.
