Travis Wallace

Travis Wallace enters his first season as a strength and conditioning coach and will work primarily with the men's basketball and women's golf programs.

Wallace arrives in Tampa following two seasons as the Strength and Conditioning Coordinator for the men’s and women’s basketball programs at Florida Gulf Coast University. During his two seasons in Fort Myers, Wallace won back-to-back Atlantic Sun championships with the women’s team and helped the Eagles to the 2019 NCAA Tournament.

Prior to joining the coaching staff at Florida Gulf Coast, Wallace worked as the personal strength coach for Toronto Raptors star Kyle Lowry since September 2017. Wallace developed and assisted with Lowry’s in-season program, traveled with him to help maintain an optimal fitness level and was key in him being able to play in 78 of 82 regular season games. Wallace continues to work with Lowry in the offseason.

In addition to those duties, Wallace helped play a role in assisting Toronto’s head strength and conditioning coach in pre-draft workouts and the NBA Summer League.

Prior to his time with the Toronto Raptors, Wallace served as a sports performance intern at UCF in the summer of 2017. In that role, he assisted with the men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s tennis, men’s and women’s soccer, volleyball and baseball programs.

Wallace also spent two years as a men’s basketball strength and conditioning graduate assistant at VCU, while also assisting with the volleyball program.

Wallace, who began his collegiate career at Florida A&M as a member of the men’s basketball team, transferred to North Florida for his final three seasons. Overall, the forward produced 1,338 career points, including 1,196 in just three seasons at UNF. He is one of just four players in the program’s history with at least 1,000 points and 500 rebounds (571) in a career.

The Marietta, Ga., native holds a Bachelor of Arts in criminal justice with a minor in sports management from North Florida. He went on to earn a master’s degree in educational leadership from VCU in 2017 and is currently working on a master’s in kinesiology from A.T. Still University.
