Zanayah Richardson, who goes by Z, serves as an Associate Athletic Trainer in the Athletic Medicine department and has been with USF since June 2022. In her role, she provides comprehensive healthcare services for the track and field and cross country teams, including designing rehabilitation and treatment plans for both short- and long-term injuries, traveling with the team to deliver on-site medical and emergency care, and organizing athletic medicine operations for home track meets. She also leads staff bonding initiatives and assists with equipment management within the department.

Richardson is a BOC Certified Athletic Trainer and ACSM Exercise Physiologist, and holds multiple additional certifications, including CPR/AED, HawkGrips Level 1, Mental Health First Aid, IV Therapy Training for Athletic Trainers, and Dry Needling Level 1. She built extensive experience through clinical rotations with programs such as GGC Olympic sports, USF men’s basketball and women’s volleyball, and Saint Leo Olympic sports, and is now entering her fourth year working with USF cross country and track and field after progressing from intern to assistant to associate.

She earned her bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Georgia State University in 2019 and her master’s degree in Athletic Training from the University of South Florida in 2022
