• The 2009-10 is now in the books as the USF men's basketball team fell to NC State, 58-57, last night in the Sun Dome in the first round of the NIT. It all came down to the last 11 seconds, as the clock never started on an NC State inbounds pass and USF faltered late in the game, with Dominique Jones giving up the ball with time winding down as no one could get a good clean shot off. USF's postseason came to an abrupt end with the loss against the No. 6 seed Wolfpack, a very frustrating loss for the Bulls. Joe Henderson writes that this loss will linger for a long time with the team.

• It was a good day for basesball, as Teddy Kaufman struck out 14 batters in a complete game shutout of UCF, 4-0, yesterday in Orlando as Kaufman pitched a gem of a game. • The softball team did not have as good a day, as the Bulls fell to Drake, 4-3, in the first game of a doubleheader before slumping to a 4-0 loss in the second game out at the USF Softball Stadium, as USF offense sputtered against the Bulldogs.

• Spring ball started yesterday for football, and there are several notes and storylines to follow this spring. • The Bulls don't have a depth chart yet, as everyone starts from scratch, says Holtz. QB B.J. Daniels is staying busy this spring despite being held out of contact drills as he continues to rehab his surgically repaired shoulder. Keep up with injury updates as several Bulls will be held out of practice. Brian Bennett tries to answer USF's spring questions in his video blog. Former player Ryan Hearn was named the new football coach as West Port High in Ocala.

• Game time and ticket information have been released for the WNIT matchup between Florida and USF tomorrow in Gainesville. Both tennis teams were in action at home yesterday at the same time, with different results, as the men lost to Mississippi State, 4-3, while the women swept New Mexico, 7-0.

• USF volleyball added another player for its 2010 team with incoming freshman Liz Barton, who was named to Volleyball Magazine's Fab 50 List, which highlights the top 50 high school seniors in the country. Men's golf competed at the Rio Pinar Invitational in Orlando yesterday, highlighted by a 1-under 71 by Robby Carl.
