USF to Host West Virginia in BIG EAST Quarterfinal Match on Saturday, Nov. 5

TAMPA, Fla. (Wednesday, Nov. 2) – The University of South Florida men's soccer team (11-5-0, 9-2-0 BIG EAST – Red Division Champions) will host the West Virginia Mountaineers (12-6-2, 6-4-1 BIG EAST) in a BIG EAST Championship quarterfinal match at the USF Soccer Stadium on Saturday, Nov. 5 at 7:30 p.m.

Earlier this season, USF defeated West Virginia in a 1-0 contest in Morgantown, W.Va. on Sept. 23. Midfielder Sammy Castellanos scored the game-winning goal in the 45th minute and goalkeeper Dane Brenner registered six saves for his first shutout of the season as the Bulls moved to 3-0-0 in conference play.

The Bulls earned the No. 1 seed in the Red Division and a first-round bye after recording a 9-2-0 conference record in 2005. The Mountaineers – the No. 4 seed in the Blue Division – defeated the Rutgers Scarlet Knights, 1-0, on Wednesday, Nov. 2 to advance to the quarterfinal match with USF.

Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for youths/seniors.

The winner of this Saturday's quarterfinal match will advance to the BIG EAST Semifinals in Storrs, Conn. (Nov. 11).
