USF Remains Unbeaten in BIG EAST Action; Defeats West Virginia, 1-0

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (Friday, Sept. 23) ? Sammy Castellanos scored his third game-winning goal of the 2005 season to lead the University of South Florida men's soccer team (4-3-0, 3-0-0 BIG EAST) to a 1-0 victory over the West Virginia Mountaineers (4-4-0, 1-2-0 BIG EAST) on Friday, Sept. 23 at Dick Dlesk Stadium. The win was the third-straight for the Bulls, keeping USF perfect in BIG EAST action (3-0-0).

In an evenly matched first half, USF scored the game's only goal in the 45th minute when Castellanos struck a shot past goalkeeper Nick Noble. Sophomore Kris Raad was credited with his fourth assist of the season on the score. With the assist, Raad extends his current point-scoring streak to three games. The Bulls entered halftime with a 1-0 lead, outshooting the Mountaineers 10-6.
