FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (October 15, 2006) - In the final tune-up before the BIG EAST Championships next week, juniors Brandon Dahlem and Ryan Thomas led the men's cross country team at the Chile Pepper Invitational on Saturday.
Dahlem's time in the 8K race of 31:42.5 and Thomas' 32:17.8 helped place the Bulls 26th overall. Over 280 runners and 33 schools were represented in the annual meet's largest field ever.
Sophomore Mike Rodriquez rounded out the top three for the Bulls at 32:30.3. Chris Cox, Steven Bell and Ryan Courtoy completed the roster for uSF.
The annual Chile Pepper Invitational was the third major meet the Bulls have participated in this year. The season will culminate Friday, Oct. 27, when USF will be tested against the best in the conference at the BIG EAST Championships from Boston.
