HARTFORD, Conn. (Nov. 3, 2006) ? The BIG EAST Conference honored University of South Florida junior Lindsay Brauer with a third team all-conference nod Thursday evening at the Hilton Hotel in Hartford, Conn.
Brauer, a forward from Cape Coral, Fla., tallied 22 points from nine goals and four assists in her first year as a Bull. She attempted 53 shots, 27 on goal, registering a .509 shot on goal percentage while owning a 3.12 shots per game average. The Seabreeze High School graduate converted three unassisted goals and three game-winning goals while starting all 17 games.
Brauer was honored as the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week (Aug. 28) for her five-goal, one-assist performance in the Dafeldecker Classic held in Tampa. She notched the game-winning goal in both games and was selected to the Dafeldecker Classic all-tournament team.
On Aug. 25 Brauer scored two goals and tallied one assist in her first game as a Bull (vs. High Point). Two days later Brauer registered her first USF-career hat trick against South Alabama.
In September, Brauer was ranked sixth in the nation in points per game (2.43) and eighth in goals per game (1.0).
Brauer, a transfer from Tennessee, assisted on the only goal scored against No. 17 Marquette on Sept. 8. She recorded her final goal of the 2006 season, a game-winner, in a 2-1 overtime victory against Pittsburgh (Oct. 8).
