USF Rally Falls Short In 79-71 Loss At No. 18 Michigan State

EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) -- Victoria Lucas-Perry scored 21 points and Allyssa DeHaan added 20 to help Michigan State (No. 18 ESPN/USA Today; No. 20 AP) hand South Florida its first loss this season, 79-71 on Sunday.

Lucas-Perry was 3-for-5 from 3-point range and had five assists and four steals for the Spartans (6-1).

DeHaan, a 6-foot-9 freshman, added nine rebounds and eight blocked shots. That effort came four days after her 28-point breakthrough against Rhode Island.

Aisha Jefferson scored 16 points and had four steals for Michigan State. Rene Haynes added 14 points and had six of her team's 24 assists.

Shantia Grace had scored 21 points and six assists but committed seven turnovers for the Bulls (7-1). Jessica Dickson had 20 points and nine rebounds but was 7-for-19 from the field.
