TAMPA, Fla. (April 21, 2026) – The South Florida women's basketball team has signed former Purdue forward Kendall Puryear, head coach Kristy Curry announced on Tuesday.

KP is a high motor, physical forward who can score the ball and rebound with a presence that can change a game on both ends of the floor," Curry said. "I have watched Kendall compete at the highest levels in summer basketball, and coupled with her Big Ten experience, she understands how to impact winning. We are thrilled to welcome her to Tampa Bay's Home for Hoops!"
Puryear, a 6-foot-3 forward from Lee's Summit, Mo., has two years of eligibility remaining. She is a physical presence with a .547 field goal percentage in her college career.
As a sophomore in 2025-26 at Purdue, Puryear appeared in 30 games with 14 starts, averaging 6.6 points and 3.2 rebounds per game. She recorded seven double-digit scoring performances, including a career-high 20 points against Illinois. The forward logged back-to-back double-digit scoring outings, scoring 12 points at Minnesota and 13 against Penn State.
Puryear posted 12 points and a season-high seven rebounds against Iowa. She grabbed six rebounds in consecutive games against Ohio State and Nebraska.
During her freshman season, Puryear averaged 7.2 points and 3.7 rebounds per game while shooting 55.3% from the field. She finished fourth on the team in scoring and 11
th among Big Ten freshmen. The forward elevated her game during conference play, averaging 8.3 points per game.
Puryear recorded 11 double-digit scoring performances, including five straight in Big Ten action. She posted a season-high 18 points against Wisconsin and pulled down a career-high eight rebounds at Indiana.
In high school, she was a McDonald's All-American Games nominee and a finalist for Miss Show-Me Basketball. She was named the Greater Kansas City Suburban Gold Conference Player of the Year and The Examiner Player of the Year in 2024. The forward was ranked the No. 2 player in Missouri by Prep Girls Hoops.
Puryear was selected for the Class 6 All-State Team twice and was named All-District and All-Conference for all four years of high school. She also set the school record for career rebounds with 897.
Puryear comes from an athletic family. Her brother, Kevin, was a four-year starter and three-year captain for Missouri and was named to the SEC All-Freshman Team in 2016.
