Bulls Drop Second Game of the Season to Miami

Coral Gables, Fla. (Sept. 15, 2006) ? The University of South Florida women's soccer team lost their second game of the season Friday night to the University of Miami, 1-0. The Bulls are now 4-2-1 while the Hurricanes boost their record to 6-1-0.

The Hurricanes got on the scoreboard in the 62nd minute when Kristen Chapman sent a header past USF goalkeeper Casey Garrett. Jessica Wyble initiated the play with a corner kick.

Junior Lindsay Brauer was the only Bull to register a shot on goal in the non-conference game. USF was allowed just five total shots by the Atlantic Coast Conference team ? three from Brauer and one apiece from Autumn Browning and Michelle Buskey. Garrett made three saves in 90 minutes for the Bulls.

The conclusion of the USF women's soccer schedule includes 10 BIG EAST Conference matches including five home and five away games. On Friday, Sept. 22 the Bulls face the Providence Friars at 7:30 p.m. at the USF Soccer Stadium. USF then hits the road for three games, including Connecticut (Sept. 24), Seton Hall (Sept. 29) and Rutgers (Oct. 1), before returning to Tampa for a four-game home stand with West Virginia (Oct. 6), Pittsburgh (Oct. 8), Louisville (Oct. 13) and Cincinnati (Oct. 15). The Bulls will end the regular season on the road as they face St. John's on Oct. 20 and Syracuse on Oct. 22. The BIG EAST Tournament will be held Nov. 11-5.
