USF WoMen's Soccer Grabs Third Win of the Season

Tampa, Fla. (September 5, 2006) ? The University of South Florida women's soccer team beat Stetson University, 3-0, Tuesday night in DeLand, Fla. The Bulls are now 3-0-1 while the Hatters fall to 1-4-0.

Freshman Jaleesa Scott scored a follow-up goal in the 25th minute of the game after the Stetson goalkeeper, April Eilering, deflected a shot by Lindsay Brauer onto the foot of Scott. The goal was Scott's second of the season. Brauer found the scoring column next, taking a shot from the left side, placing the ball into the bottom right corner of the net. Brauer now owns 16 points for the season, including seven goals and two assists.

After the half sophomore Ebony Robinson scored her first goal of the season off a pass down the left side from freshman Kaneile Thomas. Thomas recorded her first collegiate assist on the play.

The Bulls took 13 total shots, eight on goal and senior goalkeeper Casey Garrett was aided by her team to save both Stetson shots on goal.

USF will now prepare to play No. 25 Marquette University on Friday night in the USF Soccer Stadium. Kickoff for USF's first conference game of the season is at 7:30 p.m.
