CLEARWATER, Fla. ? Sophomore first baseman JoJo Medina hit her second homerun of the day to lead the University of South Florida softball team to a 7-0 win over Fordham in the final day of the USF Under Armour Showcase in Clearwater, Fla.

The Bulls scored three runs in the first inning and four in the fourth to shutout the Rams

Junior leadoff hitter Britta Giddens began the scoring in the first inning when she was awarded first base on a hit by pitch and advanced to second on an illegal pitch. Giddens did some stunt work of her own stealing third and crossed home plate on a wild pitch by Rams' pitcher Nicole Ayres.

A pair of singles placed senior outfielder Kit Dunbar and Medina on base. Moments later Senior Courtney Mosch stepped in the batter's box with two outs and line a two-run double to advance the Bulls lead to 3-0.

With two outs in the fourth inning, USF rallied with three singles. The third single was an produced an RBI single off the bat of Dunbar and plated Caitlin Schneider to make the score 4-0.

Clean-up hitter JoJo Medina stepped up to the plate and slammed her second homerun of the day to score Toscano and Dunbar and notch the score at 7-0.

All totaled, the Bulls recorded 10 hits and six RBI against the Rams.

Medina went 2-for-2, with three RBI and scored two runs while drawing one walk. Dunbar finished a perfect 3-for-3 and scored one run for the Bulls.

Freshman pitcher Capri Catalano picked up her fifth win of the season to remain unbeaten on the mound. Catalano struck out seven and allowed three hits while shutting out the 29 batters faced.

USF will return home to face UMass in a Monday night double-header scheduled for 5 pm and 7 pm at the USF Softball Complex in Tampa.
