TAMPA, Fla. - After taking a 7-1 advantage through six innings, the University of South Florida baseball team allowed seven runs over the next two innings to lose 8-7 to the Georgetown Hoyas Sunday afternoon at Red McEwen Field.

"It is frustrating for us, but we have got to keep going," said Coach Lazer Collazo, in the absence of head coach Lelo Prado, who has been out with an illness the past two games. "We have around 30 games left, one thing we can't do is just sit back. We play UCF on Tuesday, so I know coach (Prado) will talk to them and he will get it going. We have got to get it going."

Freshman Derrick Stultz made his fourth start and sixth appearance of the season, striking out six in 6.0 IP, and allowing three runs from nine hits while walking two.

Senior Joey Angelberger was 4-for-5 at the plate with an RBI while junior Addison Maruszak and freshman Ryan Lockwood were both 2-for-4 with a run scored.

USF jumped on the board first in the bottom of the third, but Georgetown equaled the score in the top of the next frame. USF countered with on in the bottom of the fourth and five in the sixth to take the 7-1 lead. In the seventh, USF allowed a pair of runs, and an inning later GU rallied for five to take the 8-7 victory.

Lockwood and junior Mike Consolmagno each recorded a double in the game and three Bulls ? Maruszak, Jonathan Koscso and Brandon Smith ? were hit by a pitch. Smith and Consolmagno each stole a base and drew a walk in the game as well.

Three pitchers, Kevin Quackenbush, David Torcise and Drew Malley, each pitched one third of an inning for USF. Quackenbush faced three batters, allowing one hit, while Torcise struck out his only batter and Malley struck out one of his three opponents. Sophomore Shawn Sanford, who picked up the loss, struck out two, but allowed three runs from two hits in 2.0 IP.

The Bulls travel to Orlando to face UCF on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m., then return to Red McEwen for a 7 p.m. matchup with Bethune-Cookman University.
