USF International Star
Maikon Bonani spent time with Brazilian television station Globo on Tuesday. The two-man crew from the largest media outlet in Brazil has been in the states covering female Brazilian futbol star Marta, who plays for the Los Angeles Sol. Marta is considered the top female player in the world.

Maikon is fluent in Portuguese and as a former futbol player, the USF kicker was happy to entertian the media and give them an inside glimpse into college football.

We'll post a link to the video feature once it goes live on Globo's website in the next month.

EA Sports Adding the White Helmets
For you video game junkies out there, the USF Marketing staff emailed the good folks at EA Sports images of USF playing in the white helmets during the St. Pete Bowl. We wanted to make sure the game was as accurate as possible. Good news is that EA Sports has integrated the look into the upcoming release of NCAA Foootball 2010. EA Sports sent USF screen shots (they are top secret, we can't share) and everything appears set for when the game is released on July 14.

Bennett Checking Out the Bulls
ESPN.com's BIG EAST Blogger Brian Bennett made the trip down to Tampa to check out the Bulls and went in-depth with Bulls middle linebacker Kion Wilson and co-defensive coordinator David Blackwell and also exchanged some words along with a few laughs with Mike Canales, Coach Tresey and even Coach Leavitt. Be sure to check out what Bennett has to say on his BIG EAST blog.

Selvie on Preseason Lott List
Senior defensive end George Selvie is one of 42 player that were named to the Lott Trophy preseason watch list earlier today. Selvie was a quarterfinalist for the award a season ago and is one of two players from the BIG EAST on this year's presseason list.

The Lott Trophy is awarded to the nation's top defensive player who exhibits the characteristics of integrity, maturity, performance, academics, community and tenacity.

Selvie to be Held Out of the Spring Game,
No need for concern Bulls Fans but Coach Leavitt said in his post practice media session that George Selvie will be held out of Saturday's Spring game. Selvie is healthy but Leavitt will hold him out to prevent any injury.

Also, Coach Leavitt announced that senior QB Matt Grothe will participate but will not be live to the defense but freshmen B.J. Daniels and Evan Landi will probably be live.

BullsVision Exclusive: Tony Dungy
Super Bowl Champion Tony Dungy spoke at the USF Coaches Clinic on Friday night and BullsVision has the exclusive video (automatically loading in media player)

Player Insights - Running Backs and Defensive Backs

We tracked down running backs coach Carl Franks and defensive coordiantor Joe Tresey to talk about the backs - both the runners and the defenders. Franks had a little more insight to offer, as he has been on staff for several years and has known the RBs from day one. Coach Tresey is obviously still getting a feel for his unit as he has only been on staff since early March, but it is clear he is high on the unit he has inherited.

Carl Franks on Mo Plancher
“Mo has so many strengths. He's a smart player. He has great change of direction. We call it C.O.D. He can make you miss. Mo has some great feet, cutting ability. He is a smart guy. He is very sharp in blitz pick up. So he's a very reliable guy who you can trust when you put him on the field,"

Carl Franks on Mike Ford
“Mike is a big guy. When he is on, Mike can really be a factor in a game and truly be a force. He can drop his shoulder and run over a defender but he has quick feet. He just has to continue to work in in that weight room and get strong and take advantage of what God has given him."

Carl Franks on Demetris Murray
Demetris Murray is a young guy. He lost some weight and trimmed down a little bit. Very quick, smart player with good feet. He just has to get in the offense and learn more and more and learn to a point where he can execute any play that we run."

Carl Franks on Richard Kelly
“Richard is a big guy. A great blocker for us. We are looking to use him in a variety of different ways where he can be running back, an H-back where we can move him around. He has very good hands and we would like to use him out of the backfield and match him up on defensive lineman and linebackers. He gives us a lot of options."

Joe Tresey on Nate Allen
“It is very important to him, he works very hard. He leads by example and could have a breakout senior year.”

Joe Tresey on George Baker
“George is getting better everyday ? he was a redshirt freshman last year, he just needs to keep getting better everyday. He has a lot of upside and a lot of potential, he has a bright future.”

Joe Tresey on Tyson Butler
“A young guy who is just getting better, he is getting more reps this spring. He is a young man that has a chance to have a good future here at USF.”

Joe Tresey on Jon Lejiste
“A very hard worker, a dedicated kid, it is really important to him and he is getting better everyday, we expect him to be a big contributor next year.”

Joe Tresey on Cameron Perkins
“A guy that we look to have a role on special teams, we think he can be very important to us on special teams. He's worked very hard this spring as far as learning the defense and if he keeps getting better, you never know what is in store for him.”

Joe Tresey on Charlton Sinclair
“Cha-cha, he doesn't have a lot of experience but has been getting a lot of reps this spring. He looks like a guy that we could plug in at the nickel spot and again has a lot of upside.”

Joe Tresey on Quenton Washington
“An experienced veteran, he just has to work hard and get better to put himself in position to have a very good season.”

Joe Tresey on Jerrell Young
Jerrell Young is another young man who didn't play a lot until the Bowl Game last year. He is a kid that has his priorities on getting better. It is important for him to improve and get game reps. He works to get better everyday and has a lot of upside.”

Joe Tresey on Jerome Murphy
“Has the potential to be an all-conference player ? he has very good ability, he has a motor. If it is important to him, which I think it is going to be, he will have a heck of a season for us.”
