
Bulls Add Another Event Win at Sea Ray Relays

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- The University of South Florida track and field team continued their success on Saturday at the Sea Ray Relays, adding another event win and posting three more BIG EAST qualifying marks. Junior Nicole Rozario won the 3000-meter Steeplechase with a BIG EAST mark of 10:44.30. Rozario's time of 10:29.74 earlier this season has her 23rd nationally and fifth in the BIG EAST.
In addition to Rozario's performance, the women's 4x400-meter relay team of Shaniel Chambers, Rachael James, Christine Poole-Trice and Ashanti Stewart ran 3:47.78 and finished second to Tennessee by less than a second. Sarah Canter added a league qualifier in the javelin with a throw of 134-8, which landed her in fifth place.
On the men's side, the 4x100-meter relay team of Neamen Wise, Kevin Bell, Derrick Hopkins and Kayvon Webster finished third after posting a time of 41.69. Wise also placed sixth in the long jump with a BIG EAST mark of 23-3.25.
Next up, the Bulls will head to Baton Rouge, La. for the LSU Alumni Gold on Friday and Saturday, April 22-23, which will be their last meet before the BIG EAST Championships in Philadelphia, Pa. on May 6-8.
