CORAL GABLES, Fla. -The University of South Florida baseball team (19-21) fell victim to the big inning as 18^th ranked Miami turned a 2-2 ball game into a one-sided affair.

The Hurricanes (28-13) exploded for a nine-run sixth en route to a 14-5 victory over the Bulls Wednesday night at Alex Rodriguez Park at Mark Light Field.

After three straight singles to start the second inning, USF took a 1-0 lead on a Jonathan Koscso RBI fielder's choice but Miami would take the lead scoring a pair of runs off RHP Kyle Eastham a few innings later in the fifth.

It would not take long for the Bulls to answer as Todd Brazeal launched his first home run since March 25, a solo homer to left center, to tie the ball at two apiece in the sixth. It was his fourth of the season, tying him with fellow junior Sam Mende for the team lead.

The tie game did not last long as the Canes scored nine runs in the bottom of the frame, highlighted by a go-ahead grand slam by Michael Broad off reliever Jimmy Moran. The Bulls used three pitchers in the inning as the Canes sent 12 men to the plate.

On the night, the Bulls used seven pitchers with Moran taking the loss, his first of the season, dropping his record to 3-1.

Koscso picked up his second RBI of the game with a single in the seventh but Miami would respond with three of their owner in the eighth.

Senior Peter Brotons, a Miami native, came off the bench to collect a pair of hits including his first career home run, an opposite field two-run homer in the ninth.

Koscso, Brazeal and Brotons led the way for the Bulls at the plate with two hits apiece. On the night, USF was out-hit 15-10 by the Canes.

Up next for the Bulls is a crucial BIG EAST series as St. John's will come to Tampa to start the three-game set on Friday in a game that will be televised on the Bright House Sports Network. First pitch is slated for 7 p.m.
