TAMPA - The Bulls dropped the second game of the series Saturday night.
USF (28-15, 11-6) rallied in the sixth inning but fell to Villanova, 7-6, before a crowd of 1,206 at USF baseball complex.
"They've outpitched us, they've outhit us, they've outplayed us," said head coach Lelo Prado. "We have to do a better job."
Longley led the charge with a two-run homer to left field in the sixth inning. The catcher hit his third homerun in three games. Kyle Teaf followed with a triple, Chad Taylor hit a single to bring him home and Taylor scored on a single by Ramsay to cut the Wildcats deficit to 7-6.
The Bulls were unable to put any more runs on the scoreboard.
Villanova jumped out to an early 3-0 lead and never looked back.
Tyler Sciacca, Paul Rambaud and Kevin Wager all collected RBI's to help put the Wildcats up.
USF responded scoring one run in the second and third inning.
Andrew Longley hit an RBI-single to left field to score Jimmy Falla and Todd Brazeal hit a two-out double to score James Ramsay and cut the Wildcats lead to 3-2.
Starting pitcher Joey Lovecchio pitched 4 1/3 innings allowing 10 hits, five runs and two walks.
Mike Clarkson, Adrian Puig, Janick Serrallonga, Austin Adams and Nick Gonzalez all pitched in relief. They combined to pitch 4 2/3 innings allowing three hits, two runs and five strikeouts.
Villanova added four more runs on seven hits including a two-run shot to left field by Matt Fleishman to extend their lead to 7-2.
The Bulls bats came alive in the sixth inning to score four runs, but they were unable to battle back.
"We have to try to win one tomorrow," said Prado.
The Bulls hopes to get its first win of the series 1 p.m. Sunday at USF baseball complex.
