TAMPAThe Bulls matched a season high with four goals and cruised to a 4-1 victory over SMU on Saturday night in front of 1,043 fans at Corbett Stadium.

Four different players recorded a goal as the team snapped a two-game scoreless streak.

“One of the first points I said to the team was that the mentality was excellent, because let's face it, we've had some adversity,” head coach George Kiefer said. “Things haven't gone as well as we drew them up but that's life and I thought they responded well to that.”

Edwin Moalosi got the scoring started in the 28th minute with his four-goal of the year. After controlling a cross from Lindo Mfeka, Moalosi calmly slotted it past SMU goalkeeper Jaime Ibarra.

Not even a minute later, Stiven Salinas made it 2-0 with his third goal of the year when he tapped in a loose ball in the six-yard box. Mfeka and Wesley Charpie were both credited with assists on the goal.

The Bulls (5-3-7, 2-2-3 AAC) outshot the Mustangs 10-3 in the first half and took a 2-0 lead into the break.

“I thought that was a very good performance for us, and like I told you each time, I feel like the team is playing very well,” Kiefer stated.

USF came out firing in the second half with a quick goal by Terry Delancy just over a minute in off of a corner kick from Mfeka. It was Delancy's first-career goal and Mfeka's third assist on the night.

Sophomore defender Matthew O'Neal also recorded his first-career goal, capping off USF's scoring in the 58th minute.

The Mustangs (3-10-2, 2-3-3 AAC) added a goal in the 70th minute after USF had substituted for most of its starters.

Senior goalkeeper Brentton Muhammad made three saves on the night and the Bulls finished with an 18-10 advantage in shots for the match.

The Bulls complete their three-game homestand on Tuesday night when they take on Detroit at 7:30 p.m. It will be the final home match of the season for USF as well as Senior Night for the Bulls. Purchase tickets HERE.
