TAMPA – The No. 24 Bulls' three-game winning streak was snapped with a 4-1 loss to Syracuse in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader before a crowd of 1,079 at USF Softball Stadium.

Leadoff batter D'Anna Devine tied the game at 1 for USF with an RBI single in the second before Syracuse put the game away with a three-run sixth that was highlighted with a two-run homer from Jasmine Watson.

USF starter Lindsey Richardson struck out eight and gave up an earned run on five hits in five innings. Monica Santos had two of the Bulls' six hits off Stacy Kuwik (14-10).

USF (39-14, 17-3) lost for just the seventh time in 26 games at home this season. The Bulls' last loss at USF Softball Stadium was all the way back on March 23 when they dropped a 3-2 decision against Rutgers.

The Bulls go for the series win 11 a.m. Sunday in their regular season finale. USF also will host the Big East tournament May 9-11.
