USF 1 1 - - 2

TAMPA (Oct. 26, 2014) – It was only fitting that in a victory over ECU, senior Sarah Miller would score the game winner on Senior Day.

The Bulls struck first as Miller found the back of the net on a breakaway play. The goal was Miller's third of the year and the second this weekend.

In the first half, the Bulls had four other extremely close chances to increase their lead. In the 23rd minute, freshman Ocean Parr had a beautiful look at the goal after getting past the ECU goalie. Her shot hit the post, keeping USF to just the one goal.

As time expired in the first half, senior Daniela Andrade had two shots, hitting the crossbar once and having the second saved by ECU's Erika Lenns. Junior Olivia chance also had a nice opportunity to put the Bulls up 2-0, but her shot when just high, hitting the crossbar.

The Bulls struck gold again in the second half as Chance recorded her ninth goal of the season in the 48th minute. The New Zealand native made an impressive kick straight up the middle from just six yards out to give USF the 2-0 lead.

USF outshot the Pirates 13-7 for the game and forced the ECU goalie to make five saves on the day. Bulls' freshman goalie Kat Elliott posted her fourth shutout of the season while making just one save.

With the win, the Bulls have secured themselves a third place finish in the AAC regular standings and will host a quarterfinal matchup against the No. 6 seed. The Bulls improved to 11-6-1 (6-3-0 AAC) on the year while ECU dropped to 10-7-1 (4-5-0 AAC).

The win also marked the first time since the 2010 season that the Bulls won more than 10 games in a season.
