At 6 feet tall, Cheyenne Eggens is a dominant power pitcher for Mathews High School in Vienna, Ohio. She has posted a 61-15 record with a 0.38 earned run average and 967 career strikeouts during her first three years.

Eggens has thrown 14 no-hitters and owns Ohio state records for strikeouts in a season with 354 and perfect games in a season with three. She is also a two-time Ohio All-State selection, a MaxPreps 2014 Small Schools All-American and an All-Ohio Scholar Athlete.

What They're Saying:
“She comes from a very good youth program and her pitching coach set her up with some very good rudiments and some basics to continue to get better. Cheyenne is really at the tip of the iceberg of getting better… and by the time she's a junior she has a chance of being really dominant in our game.”

Need to Know:
Samantha Worrell comes to USF from across the state in Oviedo, Fla., where she has been overpowering in the circle and the batter's box throughout her high school career. She is a two-time FHSAA All-State selection and was the Class 8A Player of the Year as a sophomore in 2013.

The Hagerty High School product posted a school record 27 wins as a sophomore while also leading the team with 10 home runs and 49 runs batted in. Worrell has been a four-year varsity starter and has 31 career home runs. She led her team to the Class 8A state championship game last season and finished third in player of the year voting.

What They're Saying:
“The first time I saw Sam play live was at a tournament on our field three years ago and in her first at-bat she hit one off the scoreboard… She's continued to get better and better at the plate. Her game sense has always been there and she comes from some great programs. Sam's pitching is going to surprise a lot of people. She really spins it well, she's a competitor on the mound and you watch her as an athlete, I don't think there's a position she can't play.”
