
Four Event Winners Wraps up USF Invitational

TAMPA, MARCH 14, 2014 – Four USF track and field team members won their event on Friday as the Bulls completed their first outdoor meet of the season.
For the women, Lindsay Arnold (Zephyrhills) started things off by winning the heptathlon with a personal best 4,553 points. Of the seven events, Arnold was the top finisher in just the 100m hurdles with a time of 14.91 to earn 854 points.
Laticia Sims (Detroit, Mich.) placed first in the 100m hurdles with a time of 14.05, a personal record and the sixth best time in school history. Also in the hurdles, Rachel Klinger (Niceville) placed fourth (14.51), Khadeeja Dooling (Lauderdale Lakes) fifth (14.52) and Arnold sixth (14.81).
USF's 4x400 meter relay team of Christine Poole-Trice (Columbus, Ga.), Ashanti Stewart (Ocala), Dooling and Tiah Sanborn (Lake Worth) finished second in a time of 3:55.37, five seconds behind first place FIU.
USF took three of the top six places in the men's pole vault led by Wyatt Metzger's first place vault of 16-00.75. Edward Galan (Clearwater) was fourth at 15-07.00 while Cody Chernoff (Naples) was sixth at 15-07.00.
Sophomore Matthew O'Neal (Jackson, Miss.) won the triple jump with a leap of 50-07.25.
Justin Osking (Fort Pierce) placed fifth in the shot put with a throw of 50-11.00. Junior Devin Screen (Tallahassee) finished just behind Osking with a throw of 50-6.00 to take sixth. Screen, a transfer from Coffeyville Community College, had the eighth best throw in school history. Osking was nearly three feet shy of his best throw, which ranks second all-time.
USF will host its second consecutive meet, the Bulls Invitational, beginning on Thursday at the USF Track and Field Stadium.
