No. 25 Bulls Roll Past MTSU, 6-1

TAMPA, APRIL 11, 2014 – No. 25 USF continued its road trip with a 6-1 victory at MTSU on Friday in Murfreesboro, Tenn.

The Bulls (15-5) started their sixth victory in the past seven matches by taking the doubles point before Ignacio Gonzalez-Muniz, Oliver Pramming and Federico Sabogal gave USF control of the match with straight set singles wins. Vadym Kalyuzhnyy wrapped up the victory with a 6-2, 2-6, 7-5 win over Aaron Jumonville in the No. 3 singles spot.

Head coach Matt Hill was pleased with the win but said the Bulls have the ability to be even better with one match remaining before the American Athletic Conference Championships begin on Thursday, April 17 in Memphis.

“We're happy for the win but these guys have to understand it's more than just winning. If we want to get to where we want to go they have to understand the most basic principle that every other top team understands,” Hill said. “You're not playing against the opponent; you're playing against the standard you've set up for yourself. Until they understand that they might have a tough time making that jump into the very, very top teams that are competing for championships year in and year out.”

USF will preview the conference championship courts at Memphis when the league opponents face off Sunday at 1 p.m. Get the latest updates on the Bulls by following the team on Twitter @USFBullsMTennis.
