Charpie Named to Top Drawer Soccer Team of the Week

TAMPA, SEPT. 23, 2014Wesley Charpie became the second Bull this season to be named to the TopDrawerSoccer.com Team of the Week after his two assist performance on Sept. 18 against Brown.

With his two assists in the 3-1 win over the Bears, Charpie now leads the team and is tied for third in the American Athletic Conference with three assists this season. He also is tied for second on the squad with 11 shots from his right back position.

The senior defender from Tarpon Springs, Fla., was also extremely active in the USF attack in its 2-1 loss to No. 8 Washington on Sept. 21, posting three shots for the game.

Charpie became the second player this season to be recognized by Top Drawer Soccer after senior midfielder Lucas Baldin made the team of the week on Sept. 9.

The Bulls are back in action this Saturday when they travel to Storrs, Conn., to face preseason conference favorite UConn in the conference opener for both teams.

The men's soccer program has been one of the most successful teams on campus over the years, making it to seven straight NCAA tournaments and eight of the last nine. They return six starters and 17 letterwinners from last season's American Athletic Conference Championship team.
